A Newly Developed Pill That Could End Hair Loss

HR23+ Updates Its Hair Growth Supplement Formula – What's Changed and Does It Work?

When HR23+® launched in 2015, the hair supplement market looked very different. There were fewer specialist products available, considerably less discussion about nutritional hair support, and most people experiencing hair loss felt they had only two choices: use a prescription treatment or simply accept it.

More than a decade later, HR23+ has established itself as one of the UK’s longest-running independent hair supplements for men and women. It has been used by more than 100,000 customers worldwide, shipped to over 100 countries and continually refined in response to ingredient research, manufacturing developments and customer feedback.

So, what does the current HR23+ formula contain, why has it changed over the years, and how successful has the supplement actually been?

What is HR23+?

HR23+ is a non-prescription food supplement developed to support the maintenance of healthy hair from within. It combines 23 carefully selected vitamins, minerals, amino acids and botanical extracts in one daily formula.

The supplement is intended for adult men and women experiencing concerns such as:

  • Early-stage hair thinning
  • Increased or seasonal shedding
  • A widening centre parting
  • Reduced hair density
  • A receding or weakening hairline
  • Hair that appears weaker, finer or slower-growing

The recommended serving is four capsules a day, usually taken as two capsules in the morning and two in the evening with food.

HR23+ is not a medicine and does not claim to cure baldness. Instead, it provides a broad combination of nutrients and plant extracts for people who want to support their hair without immediately turning to prescription medication.

What has changed?

Longevity is one of the clearest measures of HR23+’s success.

The supplement has now remained in continuous production for more than ten years—something relatively few independent hair supplements achieve. During that time, it has developed an international customer base, generated thousands of customer reviews and attracted a large number of repeat users.

According to customer outcome data gathered by HR23+, approximately nine out of ten users have reported some form of visible improvement after using the supplement consistently for between 3 and 12 weeks.

Reported improvements commonly include:

  • Less hair appearing in the shower or on the brush
  • Stronger-feeling hair
  • Improved hair condition and texture
  • Fuller-looking growth in areas of early thinning
  • Greater confidence in the appearance of the hair

These figures are based on customer feedback and should not be interpreted as the results of an independent clinical trial. Individual experiences vary, and no supplement will work equally well for every person.

Nevertheless, the combination of customer retention, repeat purchasing, international distribution and more than a decade on the market suggests that HR23+ has performed successfully for a substantial proportion of its users.

How quickly can results appear?

Hair grows slowly, so no genuine hair supplement can produce a complete transformation within a few days.

Some HR23+ users report noticing reduced shedding or an improvement in hair condition within the first few weeks. Visible changes in density or new growth generally require longer, particularly in areas affected by progressive thinning.

A reasonable initial trial is three months of consistent use. Taking the capsules irregularly or stopping after a couple of weeks makes it difficult to judge whether the supplement is providing any benefit.

The condition of the follicles also matters. Hair that has recently begun to thin has a better chance of responding than an area that has been completely bald and inactive for many years.

Does HR23+ work for everyone?

No—and any responsible assessment of a hair supplement should make that clear.

Hair loss can have many possible causes, including:

  • Genetics
  • Hormonal changes
  • Nutritional deficiencies
  • Stress or illness
  • Pregnancy and the postnatal period
  • Menopause
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Certain medications
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Physical damage caused by tight hairstyles or harsh treatments

A supplement may help support healthy hair, but it cannot correct every underlying medical condition or restore follicles that are no longer capable of producing hair.

Anyone experiencing sudden, severe, patchy or unexplained hair loss should speak to a GP, dermatologist or other suitably qualified healthcare professional rather than relying solely on a supplement.

Is HR23+ an alternative to finasteride?

HR23+ is often considered by people who do not want to use finasteride, but the two products should not be presented as direct equivalents.

Finasteride is a licensed medicine primarily used for male pattern hair loss. It works by reducing the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, commonly known as DHT. It can be effective, but it may also produce unwanted side effects and should be considered with appropriate medical guidance.

HR23+ is a food supplement. It does not contain finasteride, minoxidil or any other prescription drug.

Some customers use HR23+ by itself because they prefer a non-prescription routine. Others incorporate it alongside topical products, specialist shampoos, minoxidil or microneedling. Anyone combining it with medication should check suitability with a healthcare professional.

What are the main advantages of HR23+?

After more than a decade on the market, the supplement’s principal strengths include:

  • A specialist formula created specifically for hair support
  • Suitable options for both men and women
  • 23 complementary ingredients in one product
  • A strong emphasis on botanical extracts
  • Methylfolate rather than standard folic acid
  • No prescription required
  • No subscription required
  • Worldwide availability
  • A substantial history of customer use
  • Continuous development rather than a formula left unchanged indefinitely

Another advantage is that HR23+ has never positioned itself as an instant cure. Its purpose is to provide consistent daily support, with the best prospects generally seen among people who begin during the earlier stages of thinning.

Are there any disadvantages?

Four capsules a day will be more than some people are accustomed to taking, and the product needs to be used consistently for several months before it can be assessed fairly.

As with all hair supplements, there is also no guaranteed result. A person with temporary nutritional shedding may have a very different experience from someone with advanced hereditary baldness.

HR23+ is therefore best viewed as part of a wider hair-care strategy rather than a miraculous solution.

Why starting early still matters

Whether someone chooses a supplement, topical product, prescription treatment or a combination of approaches, acting early is important.

Progressive hair loss usually becomes more difficult to address as follicles gradually weaken. Supporting the hair while it is still present generally offers a more realistic opportunity to preserve its appearance than waiting until substantial loss has already occurred.

Taking clear photographs under the same lighting every four weeks can help users assess changes more objectively. Day-to-day mirror checks are often misleading because normal hair growth is gradual.

The overall verdict on HR23+

HR23+ has achieved something that many hair supplements do not: it has remained relevant for more than a decade in an increasingly crowded and competitive market.

Its success has not been based on a single fashionable ingredient. Instead, the supplement brings together a wide selection of established hair nutrients and botanical extracts, supported by ongoing formula development and extensive customer feedback.

It will not cure every form of hair loss, replace lost follicles or guarantee regrowth. However, for men and women experiencing early-stage thinning, increased shedding or a gradual reduction in hair quality, it offers a well-established, non-prescription option backed by more than ten years of real-world use.

The current formula represents the most developed version of HR23+ so far: a broad nutritional foundation, a stronger focus on its four key botanical extracts and a continued commitment to supporting healthier, stronger and fuller-looking hair.

  3. Used this supplement since 2016, took a few months to set in but I am pleased with it. I'm now in my 50s and have managed to maintain a good head of hair, which I never thought possible 10 years ago as I was visibly thinning. I'm always wary when they tweak this supplement but so far so good.

    1. It's just a hair loss prevention supplement, it doesn't claim to be a cure. Plenty of hair loss prevention products out there, nothing new.

  11. I purchased a year's supply, I'm six months in, so far so good. My hair looks and feels thicker and stronger, and it's less prone to shedding. My target was to arrest any excessive hair fall, and these capsules seem to have done that to great effect.
