10 Reasons Why Harry and Meghan Are So Disliked

Why so people dislike Harry and Meghan?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven't been married long, yet already they appear to be rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way. 

This young couple were meant to be the bright new hope, adding freshness and diversity to the British monarchy, but instead, they've turned themselves into one of the most loathed celebrity couples in the limelight. 

So, where did it go so wrong for Harry and Meghan? Well, here are ten key reasons why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become so disliked my the general public... 

The Oprah interview... 

Not manty felt that the Oprah interview in 2021 was in particularly good taste, and let's just say the whole episode didn't do Harry and Meghan any favours. 

There are some things you just don't do, and slating your entire family on one of the most watched shows in America, was never going to end well. 

Even if the Royal Family had treated Harry and Meghan badly, it should still be a private matter. Airing your dirty laundry in public is not a very liked trait, so you could say that this interview was already the beginning of the couple's decline. 

The race card

In today's times, we are all trying our hardest to stamp out racism. It's always been a sensitive topic, so it doesn't help when high profile celebs like Meghan Markle seem to play the race card in order to get their narrative across.

Now, racism should of course be taken very seriously, but if you're going to accuse somebody of being racist (which Meghan did on multiple occasions), then it's always best to back up your claims with proof, or names, at the very least. 

Many people feel that Meghan is using the race card in order to position herself as the victim, which in itself is harming the fight against racism, rather than doing it any good. 

The mental health card

Much like with racism, Meghan seems to be using the mental health card as a way of being the victim. Mental health awareness has a bigger presence then ever before, but many people believe that it is being used as a way of gaining sympathy. 

Now we don't know whether Meghan was depressed and suicidal, as she claims, but much of the public do not seem convinced. In fact, most of the public don't believe her. 

Hypocrisy

Harry and Meghan made it clear that they wanted away from the spotlight in order to live a quiet life. The main reason for this was because they wanted to be away from the press and media - and to be fair, most of the British public were fine with them doing this. 

The problem is, since they left the United Kingdom, they've done nothing but be in the spotlight. They've signed multi million pound contracts with Spotify and Netflix, done a major interview with Oprah, and released a "tell all" documentary series. Heck, Harry has even released a book! 

This media happy couple, who now reside in Los Angeles, seem to just come across as completely contradicting and hypocritical, which much of the public really do not like.

A life of privilege 

With Harry and Meghan, it's not so much the money and the privileged life that most people have an issue with, but it's the way they seem to shove it in our faces, without any regard to how real people live their real lives. 

The British people are going through a recession, and the world is coming out of a pandemic - people are going through some very tough times, and all we see of Harry and Meghan is their whining and moaning about such trivial matters, from the luxury of their LA mansion. 

These two people of privilege have completely lost perspective of life. And they want our sympathy? 

Covid Lockdowns 

The Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary did this self-absorbing couple far more harm than good. Much of it was filmed during the pandemic, when all us "normal folk" were going through lockdowns, some of us in small one bed apartments, while Harry and Meghan paraded themselves in their huge mansion with acres of land to run around in. 

If you're trying to get sympathy from people, then this sort of thing really doesn't help. In fact, it makes you look like you've completely lost touch with anything that is remotely normal. 

Will and Kate 

When you're going up against a couple that most of the British public adore, you're going to have to form a pretty convincing narrative to get people on your side. 

Unfortunately, for Harry and Meghan, they were never going to topple the much loved Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales - not even close. 

Harry and Meghan have come across as the whiny, ungrateful couple, whereas William and Kate have stayed silent, and acted with the dignity and class that we expect from them. This was always a battle that Harry and Meghan were going to lose. 

Brexit

Harry and Meghan used footage of Brexit in their Netflix documentary, in order to portray the British as a racist country.  Now, whether there is any truth to this is another matter, but it certainly didn't go down well with most of the British public, be it Leavers or Remainers. 

Bad timing

Let's face it, the timing of this has been so wrong. Harry and Meghan decide to attack the British monarchy and many of the British people, during a time when Prince Phillip was ill, and eventually passed way, and then Queen Elizabeth II passed away not long after. 

As already mentioned, the British people were locked into a pandemic, and are now living through a recession, and all they seem to get is the ever so privileged Harry and Meghan shoving their victim playing antics in their faces 24/7. 

Harry and Meghan are coming across as selfish narcissists, with little empathy or understanding of what so many of the British people are going through, at present. Their timing has not been in good taste. 

Private jets... 

If you're going to bang on about helping the environment and making the world a greener place to live, then maybe it's not such a great idea to get private jets... that's never going to go down well with any environmentalist...
