How can female hair loss be prevented?

There isn't a cure for female pattern baldness, but there are ways to treat it, so don't despair.  The treatments aren't vast, but some of them are viable, and are able to help prevent excessive hair fall, and maintain the healthy function of hair growth.

The best treatments for hair loss are:

Minoxidil - Although results are sparse, a daily usage of 2% minoxidil (Regaine) can help prevent hair loss and help regrow hair. This stuff won't perform miracles, but it can work well when used in conjunction with other products. Minoxidil is currently the only medically approved hair loss treatment, but be warned, it can give users negative side-effects.

Multivitamin Hair Supplements - Multivitamins are becoming increasingly popular for treating hair loss, for wo main reasons; they're safe to take, and they are effective. The best multivitamin hair supplements, like HR23+, can help slow down and even stop the rate of shedding, and help support the healthy function of hair growth.

Ketoconazole Shampoo (Nizoral) - Several studies have found that ketoconazole shampoo, most commonly branded as Nizoral, might help slow the effects of pattern baldness and stimulate hair growth. The researchers discovered that 2% ketoconazole shampoo increased the size and proportion of anagen hair follicles at a similar rate to minoxidil.

Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF) - Best used in serum form, keratinocyte growth factor has been shown to regulate proliferation and differentiation in epithelial tissues and may regulate the clonogenic cells (stem cells) of the hair follicle. Hairs irradiated in anagen and analysed during the second cycle exhibited a similar level of protection. With daily use, KGF can help stop hair loss and help regrow hair.

Hair Surgery/Procedures - Should all else fail, there is the final option of hair transplantation, infrared laser treatment, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), or micro-needling.
