You'll eat, sleep and live on the Red Plant, and what's more, you won't ever be coming back!
It's a question that millions, if not billions, of the human race ask themselves every single day around the world: What would it be like to visit Mars. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live on the red planet? Well, you may not have to wonder for much longer. Enter the Mars One project...

Mars One is a not-for-profit foundation that will establish a permanent human settlement on Mars. Existing and developing technologies have made a near-future mission to Mars a very realistic prospect, and one that Mars One fully intend to execute.

Mars One's mission plan integrates components that are well tested and readily available from industry leaders worldwide. The first footprint on Mars and lives of the crew thereon will captivate and inspire generations; it is this public interest that will help finance this human mission to Mars.

To simply this project: Mars One intends to send out unmanned cargo and supplies to the red planet, with humans ready to follow, where they will live and work, permanently. Yes, that's right folks, once you've left Earth you ain't coming back!

The search for astronauts began in April 2013, with a staggering 200,000 applicants entering the first stage process. The subject of the red planet has been enough in its own right to gather such high interest from around the world.

Once humans have landed and settled on Mars, extensive exploration missions and research will be conducted, with updates, visuals and footage send back to Earth, for all of us to see. As it stands, we have a number of technologies that are currently roaming the red planet, but we have yet to send humans there.

As ambitious and inspiring the Mars One project is, would you fancy taking a one way ticket to Mars?
